How to Fix "Unregistered" Members on the Local Dashboard — A Field Guide for CHIs

✍️ Written by FieldCare — based on Community Health Inspector field experience · Last updated: August 2026

Many CHIs are seeing some members show up as "Unregistered" on their Local Dashboard, even though the registration was actually completed. This often causes confusion about where exactly the problem lies and how to fix it. This article explains, step by step, why this happens and how to resolve it.

First, understand the problem

When a family is registered, a complete health profile must be created for every member of that household. If even one field in one member's profile is left blank, the system marks the entire entry as incomplete, or "Unregistered" — even if everything else was filled in correctly. That's why entries that are actually registered, but not fully complete, show up this way on the Local Dashboard.

For CHIs currently doing new registrations

If you're actively doing new registrations, the simplest and most effective habit is to check your Google Dashboard every single day — either at the end of your work day, or first thing the next morning. If you spot any error or incorrect entry, fix it right away instead of leaving it for later, so you don't waste time tracking it down afterward.

How to reach the Google Dashboard

In your list of completed registrations, each entry has three small icons next to it: a black location pin, a blue "i" (Information) icon, and a red delete icon. Click the blue "i" (Information) icon in the middle — this takes you directly to the Google Dashboard, where you can see the full details of that entry.

The biggest benefit of checking the Google Dashboard daily is that errors get caught while they're still fresh — and the sooner an error is caught, the easier it is to fix. If you wait weeks or months, it becomes much harder to remember exactly what was entered on which day.

When those same unregistered members start showing on the Local Dashboard

After some time, these same unregistered entries also start appearing on the Local Dashboard. When that happens, don't panic or rush — instead, work through it calmly and systematically using these steps:

  1. Step 1: Apply a filter for the entire month in which you started that registration work. For example, if you started in February, filter from Feb 1 to Feb 28 and check whether any unregistered member appears within that month.
  2. Step 2: If an unregistered member does show up within that month's filter, narrow it down further by filtering day by day — for example, Feb 1 to Feb 2 — to check if the unregistered entry falls on that specific day. Keep moving forward day by day until you find the exact day it occurred.
  3. Step 3: On the day the unregistered member appears, click on the "Total Families" count shown above that day. This will bring up the full list of families registered on that day.
  4. Step 4: If, say, 10 families were registered that day, open each family one by one and check where the error is. Don't rush this step — go through each family carefully.

Where does the mistake usually happen?

In most cases, the health profiles of every family member were fully created, except one field was left blank in one member's profile. This commonly happens in fields like:

  • The Education field being left empty
  • A missing detail field for an illness
  • An incomplete field for a family member's death, if applicable
  • Or any other required field being overlooked

So go through every member's profile in every family, one at a time, calmly and carefully. Wherever a field is empty, fill it in, hit Save, and then check again to confirm the entry now shows as registered.

One last, important note

CHIs who are currently doing new registrations should build the habit of checking their Google Dashboard daily. And for any unregistered members showing on the Local Dashboard, track them down calmly and systematically by date and by family. This approach catches problems early and saves you from repeated frustration down the line. ❤️
